The Role – SEMH Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Teacher to lead a primary SEMH class in a well-established specialist provision in Newham, starting September 2025.
You will teach a small class of primary-aged pupils with a range of SEMH needs, often alongside other diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, or attachment difficulties. As the class teacher, you will deliver a structured, engaging and trauma-informed curriculum, focused on emotional regulation, communication, and social development alongside core academics. You will be supported by skilled teaching assistants, therapists, and a leadership team committed to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment.
The School – SEMH Teacher
This specialist provision in Newham caters to primary pupils with SEMH and associated needs who require an alternative to mainstream education. The school offers small class sizes (no more than 8 pupils), tailored therapeutic support, including in-house mentors and therapists, a strong emphasis on emotional well-being and restorative practices, high staff-to-pupil ratios and ongoing training in de-escalation, behaviour support, and trauma-informed practice. Staff are passionate about making a genuine impact and work as part of a tight-knit, supportive team.
