Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using both hand and power tools. As an MOT Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of vehicles through thorough inspections and assessments. This position requires a commitment to high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.

Duties

* Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on various vehicle types, ensuring adherence to legal standards.

* Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.

* Identify any faults or issues that may affect vehicle safety or performance.

* Document findings accurately and provide clear explanations to customers regarding necessary repairs or maintenance.

* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for testing and repairs as needed.

* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment is stored safely.

* Assist in heavy lifting tasks when required, contributing to the overall efficiency of the workshop.

Experience

* Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.

* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various vehicle issues.

* Familiarity with using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

* Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of regular duties.

* Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and explain technical information clearly.

Pay: £18.00-£23.00 per hour
