An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Swindon is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Food Technology Teacher to join their dynamic Design and Technology department from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position suited to a teacher with a passion for food education, whether you are an experienced practitioner or an ECT looking to begin your career in a supportive environment.
The school prides itself on providing practical, skills-based education to equip students with lifelong knowledge about nutrition, sustainability, and food culture. The department is well-resourced with recently refurbished kitchens and strong technician support.
The Role:

Teach Food Preparation and Nutrition to students in KS3 and KS4
*
Prepare students for GCSE practical assessments, ensuring health and safety standards are met
*
Encourage creativity and confidence in the kitchen through engaging, hands-on lessons
*
Contribute to whole-school initiatives around healthy living, sustainability, and cultural diversity in food
*
Lead or support enrichment opportunities including cookery clubs, enterprise projects, or local food festivals
Candidate Profile:
*
A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or related field
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs welcome
*
A strong understanding of food science, health guidance, and NEA assessment
*
A creative approach to teaching, with a passion for inspiring students of all abilities
*
Excellent organisational and communication skills
