Design Manager

This would suit an experienced Design Manager ideally with a background in special-purpose machinery or automated solutions. Projects can vary in size from £50k up to £2m and often within automotive, medical, industrial and aerospace industries.

Salary £55K - £65K, 25 days holiday, pension contribution, laptop & phone

Hours Monday - Friday, 1pm finish Fridays.

The role

Manage a small team of 4 design engineers.
Design using 2D AutoCAD and Inventor 3D CAD software
Design machines and systems from the concept stage through to the final detailed stage
Involved with the planning, organising and customer meetings working closely with the project leader
Solving problems and initiating corrective actions as required ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget.
Developing team skills set, motivation.
Proactively engaging with emerging advances digital twins, Industry 4.0 principles
Lead design reviews
Participate in customer meetings to clarify technical requirements and present design concepts.Person Profile

Several years' design management experience - essential
A senior design engineer from the automation sector will be considered
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, robotics, and automation technologies - all beneficialVisa sponsorship is not possible.
