About the Role:

As a member of our English department, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5), delivering engaging and innovative lessons that foster a love for literature and language. You’ll be supported by a collaborative team and a strong leadership structure that prioritises both student progress and staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum

Track student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback

Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities or enrichment programmes

Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Degree in English or a related subject

Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments

Excellent communication and classroom management skills

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
