History Teacher – Full Time | Secondary School in Hertford | September Start

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Hertford to recruit a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher. This full-time role is available from September and presents an exciting opportunity to join a supportive humanities department that values creativity, academic rigour, and student engagement.

This is the perfect role for a teacher looking to inspire young minds through the exploration of the past and help students develop critical thinking and analytical skills.

The Role:

Deliver engaging and challenging History lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching experience desirable but not essential).
Plan and assess work in line with curriculum guidelines and school policies.
Encourage historical inquiry, discussion, and independent learning.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement in the classroom.
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including trips, clubs, and cross-curricular activities.
Participate in departmental planning, staff meetings, and CPD.

Ideal Candidate:

Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification.
Has experience teaching History in a UK secondary school setting (ECTs also welcome).
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for history education.
Possesses excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Committed to student progress, inclusivity, and professional development.
Willing to undergo or currently holds an enhanced DBS check.
