Our client, a prominent entity within the Defence and Aerospace sectors, is seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join their team on a permanent basis in Sunbury on Thames, Surrey. This role is integral to ensuring the highest quality standards for Piece Part, Sub Assembly, or Final Assembly produced by the company or its subcontractors and suppliers, in compliance with AS9100 and EASA Part 21 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanically inspect all company products using a wide range of hand measuring tools and inspection equipment, including the CMM.
Act as the designated DQR (Designated Quality Representative) for product release of specific customer products.
Certify Civil Aerospace products for release.
Verify supplier FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports).
Compile FAIRs to AS9102 standards for internal products.
Coordinate mechanical and electrical calibration with internal customers and contribute to the calibration improvement plan.
Develop Goods Inwards Inspection Plans (GRIPs) and coordinate with suppliers.
Produce detailed NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) for internal or external distribution.
Utilise Microsoft Office to maintain supporting records for the company's calibration system.
Communicate effectively with all internal departments via written reports or verbally.
Assist in customer site visits where relevant.
Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during mechanical inspections.
Identify and flag quality control non-conformances to reduce waste.

Job Requirements:

Proven experience working in a Quality Mechanical Inspector role.
Significant experience in a manufacturing environment using mechanical measuring equipment.
Familiarity with FAIRs to AS9102 is essential.
Proficiency in using a wide range of hand measuring tools and inspection equipment, including CNC CMM (CE Johansson is desirable).
Experience in producing accurate and comprehensive written reports on non-conforming products.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Excellent command of the English language and articulate communication skills.
Strong presentation and communication abilities at all levels, both internally and externally.
Demonstrable numerical aptitude.
