Senior Estimator – Leading Specialist Contractor – Groundworks/Civil Engineering

My Client are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Estimator to join a well-established Principal Contractor with over 40 years in the construction industry. The business delivers complex retail and commercial construction projects for a prestigious portfolio of blue-chip clients across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a niche sector, providing accurate and competitive cost estimates for technically demanding projects, while collaborating with a skilled and supportive team.

You will play a critical role in producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects within a fast-paced, specialist sector of the construction industry.

Senior Estimator – Leading Specialist Contractor

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial and retail construction projects

* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments to gather project data and scope

* Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate pricing models

* Identify and quantify cost factors such as time, materials, and labour

* Prepare and maintain tender and bid documentation

* Support project handovers and cost management through the lifecycle of projects

* Keep abreast of industry trends, material costs, and construction methods relevant to fuel infrastructure

Requirements:

* Proven experience as an Estimator within Groundworks & Civil Engineering.

* Strong understanding of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite

* Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy

* Strong communication and negotiation skills

* Knowledge of relevant regulations and health and safety standards
