Contract / Project Manager
Hamilton, South Lanarkshire
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000
T2M Resourcing are currently working alongside an innovative engineering company to help them to recruit a Contract/Project Manager.
As a Contract/Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Rail Project team with the operational management and development of rail maintenance and construction projects. You will help secure a consistent pipeline of work by cultivating lasting relationships with existing clients and actively identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities as a Contract/ Project Manager:
As a member of the management team, you will contribute to achieving the overall objectives of the business unit by driving performance across operations, finance, customer relations, and employee engagement. Your role will include:
* Supporting the management of budgets, profit and loss (P&L), and overall commercial performance — including cash flow and collectables.
* Interpreting contracts and implementing effective controls to manage delivery and risk.
* Maintaining high standards of quality, health and safety in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
* Monitoring market trends, identifying new opportunities, and supporting the tendering process for future work.
* Proactively managing costs and driving efficiency to boost profitability and performance.
* Supporting HR initiatives across the Rail Business Unit, including workforce coaching, development, and performance management.
* Establishing clear, measurable goals and KPIs to foster a high-performance culture.
* Collaborating closely with the Health and Safety team, helping prepare for RISQS audits
* Providing general support to the Operations Manager.
Requirements to be a successful Senior Buyer:
* Previous experience in managing and leading a team.
* Industry experience and technical knowledge of the rail sector, along with a strong understanding of the wider electrical engineering field.
* Valid Health & Safety certifications such as: PTS, IOSH, and/or SMSTS (Health & Safety for Managers).
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with members of all levels
