Working within a leading industrial and power systems organisation, this role is pivotal in the design and development of engines that power thousands of applications worldwide - from industrial machinery to marine and energy solutions.

The Role
As a Development Engineer, you will contribute to new product development, technology integration, and the improvement of existing platforms. You will be part of a team driving engineering excellence and innovation across engine systems development.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute core engine system validation activities
Support new product development and resolve technical issues
Conduct FMEA and risk assessments to determine design and validation needs
Plan, perform, and analyse component and system tests
Facilitate and participate in design reviews
Investigate and resolve production, test, and field issues - developing both immediate containment and long-term solutions
Collaborate with suppliers, global manufacturing teams, and engineering stakeholders
About You
Essential Requirements:
HNC or degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
At least 3 years of development engineering experience
Technical knowledge of core engine systems (e.g. rotating systems, valvetrain, castings, lubrication, cooling, or breather systems)
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical validation
Self-driven with strong planning and project delivery skills
Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
Desirable:
Experience with diesel or alternative fuel engine platforms
Familiarity with FMEA, DVP&R, and 8D problem-solving
Experience with Teamcenter or other data management systems
Exposure to APQP processes
Creo or other CAD design experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools
