Role: Process Technologist – Food Manufacturing
Salary & Benefits: Up to £38,000 (dependent on experience) + overtime + comprehensive benefits (33 days holiday, matched pension up to 10%, £1 hot meals, share save scheme, free company products, cycle to work, onsite parking, 24/7 online GP, and much more)
Location: Malton – commutable from York, Scarborough, Hull & the A64 corridor

Hours & Shifts: Monday – Friday | 08:00–16:00 | 30-minute lunch (flex for early/late trials)

Could you turn a kitchen concept into a prestigious retailer’s best seller?

This is your chance to join an award winning chilled food producer whose festive centrepieces and gourmet products fly off shelves nationwide. You’ll be the bridge between blue sky NPD and flawless factory launch, making sure every new product leaves the line safely, on cost and bang on spec. First time, every time.

The Role

Own the factory NPD process for your assigned concepts, from raw material call off through to day one launch.

Design and lead factory trials - sampling, scale up, tooling, packaging and process validation.

Analyse results, troubleshoot issues on the line and capture learnings in clear trial reports.

Build the finished Product File, Quality Contract and hand over pack for Technical & QA.

Liaise closely with kitchen development chefs, planning, engineering and customer technical teams to hit cost, quality and safety targets.

Support “first production” runs on the shopfloor, coaching operators and ensuring food safety rules are lived, not laminated.

What We’re Looking For

Proven background in Process / NPD within an FMCG food or drink environment.

Hands on experience running factory trials, data gathering and troubleshooting.

Confident communicator who tackles issues head on and brings energy to cross functional projects.

Comfortable in both office and high care factory settings – sleeves rolled up mentality.

Working knowledge of retailer standards and HACCP / food safety principles.

Analytical, well-organised and calm under pressure when timings shift.

(A formal Level 3 Food Safety qualification and Campden sensory training are great extras, but mindset and trial line experience count most.)
