Job Title: Senior Quality and Improvement Engineer

Job Purpose:
This role is focused on maintaining and enhancing the quality and performance of products, processes, and services. The key objectives include:
Conducting inspections at internal, customer, and supplier sites to ensure conformance to requirements.
Developing and improving quality assurance systems and auditing for compliance.
Department: Quality (Gas Turbine Division)
Reports to: Quality and Improvement Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Inspections
Perform inspections according to procedures, specifications, and regulations to ensure equipment meets all requirements.
Accurately compile inspection results, document them, and communicate findings.
Escalate unresolved issues using appropriate systems for timely resolution.
Participate in meetings and site visits to understand and communicate engineering and customer expectations.
Manage non-conformances with effective corrective actions.
Use feedback to drive continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
Supplier Development
Collaborate with internal departments to manage and improve supplier performance.
Ensure supplier documentation meets all company and customer requirements.
Integrated Management Systems
Assist in the development and enhancement of procedures and processes to maintain compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and applicable regulations.
Conduct internal and supplier audits to support certification requirements.
Workplace Health, Safety, and Environment
Uphold Health & Safety and Environmental standards during inspections.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and equipment maintenance procedures.
Provide training and coaching to staff, suppliers, and customers as required.
Person Specification:
Essential
Excellent communication, organizational, investigative, and reporting skills.
Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Methodical and flexible with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Proactive and able to work independently; willing to travel within Europe and internationally.
ISO9001 Auditor qualification.
Experience in supplier audit planning and execution.
Experience developing manufacturing or quality procedures and training users.
Familiarity with ISO9001:2015 or equivalent QMS.
Exposure to project delivery and related processes.
Strong root cause analysis and quality tools experience.
Experience mentoring junior staff.
Desirable
Knowledge of ERP systems such as Syteline.
Understanding of modern manufacturing technologies and supply chain operations.
Familiarity with EU directives (e.g., PED, Machinery).
Experience with ASME Section V (non-destructive examinations).
Responsible Weld Coordinator qualification.
