Job Title: Area Supervisor – Recycling & Reuse
Location: Based at Bardon with travel to local waste sites
Rate: £17.00 per hour
Hours: 37–40 hours per week over 7 days (weekend work required)

Job Description:
A hands-on supervisory role focused on supporting recycling and reuse initiatives across local Household Waste and Waste Transfer Sites. This position is ideal for someone passionate about sustainability and experienced in staff management and operational site supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
• Promote and oversee the segregation of reusable materials to divert waste from landfill
• Supervise and support site staff, including onboarding, one-to-ones, and performance discussions
• Deliver staff training, toolbox talks, and health & safety briefings
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, risk assessments, and quality standards
• Liaise with contractors to improve reuse performance and communication
• Handle low-level customer complaints (face-to-face, phone, and email)
• Maintain accurate records of waste movements, PPE, and site documentation
• Drive a 3.5 tonne van when required (occasional)

Requirements:
• Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle insured for business use
• Strong IT, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience managing multiple staff and delivering training
• Customer service experience

Desirable:
• COTC (Certificate of Technical Competence)
• Experience driving up to 3.5 tonne vehicles

• Weekend work required (minimum 1 in 3, ideally 1 in 2)
• PPE and uniform provided (including use of Body Worn Camera)
• Base site for mileage claims to be agreed based on candidate location
