Position: Contracts Supervisor / Manager (Roofing)

Location: Birmingham (travel required)

Salary: £48 – £52k (depending on experience)

Package: Car Allowance, Pension, & Bonus Scheme

Role:

We are currently looking for a Contract Supervisor / Manager for an award winning roofing company based in Birmingham. The Contract Supervisor / Manager role is to manage all aspects of the contracts assigned to them to include practical, contractual and financial responsibilities.

Our client has been an industry leader in the design, construction, refurbishment and creation of specialist roofing and waterproofing solutions for both public and private sector clients for nearly 50 years. Operating throughout the UK, delivering first class services they are now looking for an established contracts supervisor / Manager to join the team.

Responsibilities:

* Provide Client quotes with the relevant profit margins as agreed.

* Respond to client requests and attend meetings when required.

* Manage all aspects of the contract works assigned to them.

* Complete contracts to specification, programme and budget.

* Arrange the allocation of labour for assigned contracts within the overall works programme.

* Purchase materials / resources needed to execute the works (products, plant & vehicles).

* Ensure works are carried out to the company’s technical and quality standards.

* Supervision of health and safety both on and off site.

* Carry out site safety checks.

* Anticipate potential delays and work actively to minimise programme disruptions.

* Monitor work progress and performance, taking prompt action when needed and reporting any irregularities or problems to the Contract Manager.

* Preparation of Risk and Method Statements and Construction Phase plans.

* Ensure that all members of staff behave in a professional manner: wear the correct corporate clothing, keep vehicles and machinery clean and well maintained and that sites are kept clean and tidy at all times.

* Provide feedback to individuals / gangs and carry out disciplinary proceedings where appropriate.

Requirements:

The suitable candidate will ideally have the following demonstrable skills / qualifications, however training will be provided to a suitable applicant.

* NVQ 3 or equivalent in construction related skills (preferably roofing)

* Construction experience / Technical background

* CSCS card

* SSSTS or SMSTS

* Ability to work at heights.

* Full clean UK driving licence

* Good level of IT literacy to carry out customer interfacing, material orders and health and safety documentation

* Solid awareness of health & safety, good working practices and customer facing skills
