Our client is a specialist equipment rental house, supplying cutting-edge technology and technical support to film and TV productions worldwide. From major feature film franchises to high-end television and commercials, their work supports some of the most ambitious and exciting productions in the industry.

We are seeking a proactive and practical Network Rigging Technician to support our growing Location Internet service. You’ll be responsible for delivering, setting up, testing, and de-rigging temporary internet systems for productions filming on location. These systems include Starlink, 4G/5G routers, access points, switches, and associated cabling.

This is a hands-on role combining physical rigging with basic technical troubleshooting. It is ideal for someone who is practical, dependable, and has an interest in networking, AV, or live events. You’ll be working independently on-site, often during unsociable hours, and travelling to different locations.

Please note: This role requires working predominantly evenings and nights and candidates must be aged 25+ for vehicle insurance purposes. You may also be asked to work away from home a few times per year — accommodation and expenses will be covered.

Role and Responsibilities

* Deliver and collect temporary internet equipment between production locations

* Rig and safely install equipment such as Starlink units, routers, switches, and network cables

* De-rig and relocate equipment as productions move between sites

* Test all installations to ensure stable connectivity and full functionality

* Set up printers and perform basic troubleshooting

* Liaise with on-site production contacts to agree suitable rigging positions and ensure safety

* Remain on standby during some shoot days in case on-site support is required

* Communicate with the Kitroom and Office about production logistics, kit issues, or schedule changes

* Provide feedback and ideas on how to improve equipment or workflows

Candidate Requirements

* Aged 25 or older, with a manual UK driving licence

* A flexible and positive attitude — especially around working hours and changing production schedules

* Physically capable – able to lift and carry equipment and run network cables

* Confident working alone on-site with clear instructions but minimal supervision

* Good communication skills and professional conduct when interacting with production crews

* Interest in technology, networking, or AV (formal experience not required)

* Practical mindset and basic DIY or rigging ability

* Calm and methodical approach to problem-solving

* Trustworthy and discreet – working on sets where confidentiality is essential

* Ability to react quickly and effectively to changing circumstances.

Desirable but not essential

* Background in live events, music festivals, AV tech, IT support, or film production

* Basic knowledge of networking (e.g., IP addresses, VLANs, access points)

* Experience working outdoors or on remote sites

Working Conditions

* Average of 42.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days/nights

* Shifts will typically be in the evenings or at night.

* Weekend work will sometimes be required

* Paid turnaround days are provided when switching from night to day shifts within a single week

* Occasional travel and overnight stays – accommodation and reasonable expenses fully covered

* 33 days’ holiday per year, including bank holidays
