About the Role

Cast UK is delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Warehouse Manager on behalf of a market-leading distribution company based in Motherwell. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional to join a thriving business operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The working pattern is Tuesday to Friday, rotating across 6am-2:45pm/9:30am to 6pm.

In this key role, you'll support the Warehouse Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring smooth operations across receiving, storage, and dispatch. You'll take an active role in stock management, transport coordination, team supervision, and process improvements - all while maintaining a strong safety culture and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Support warehouse operations including goods-in, stock control, dispatch and fleet management
Drive performance through effective team leadership, training, and task planning
Ensure warehouse costs and KPIs are on track through regular reporting and operational oversight
Champion Health & Safety best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain strong stock accuracy and support ERP/WMS systems as needed
Collaborate closely with internal teams to exceed customer service expectations

What We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar warehouse leadership role
Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse best practices
Hands-on leadership with proven ability to motivate and develop teams
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable: ERP/WMS experience, logistics/planning knowledge, forklift licence (Counterbalance & Reach)
