A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate Demi Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at an award-winning, independently owned gastropub in the beautiful village of East Sussex. Offering a competitive salary of £30,000 plus approximately £5,000 in tips, this is the perfect role for a motivated chef looking to grow within a creative and highly respected kitchen.

With AA Rosette recognition, the kitchen delivers a varied and exciting food offering-from à la carte dining and pub favourites to outdoor BBQs, weddings, and private functions. The kitchen team is committed to producing food with passion, precision, and respect for quality ingredients.

The Role

As Demi Chef de Partie, you'll work closely with the Chef de Partie and wider brigade to prepare and present high-quality dishes across all sections. This is an excellent stepping stone for a junior chef with solid foundation skills who is ready to take the next step and gain experience in a high-performing, supportive kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and service of dishes to a high standard

Support senior chefs during busy services and with daily mise en place

Rotate through sections to gain broad experience across the kitchen

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene at all times

Learn from experienced chefs and contribute to a positive team culture

Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control

Candidate Profile

Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef de Partie in a fresh food kitchen

Passionate about cooking and eager to develop new skills

Strong team player with a good work ethic and willingness to learn

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality food

Flexible and happy to support functions and events as needed
