Job Title: Structural Engineer – Steel Structures (Maintenance Projects)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer with proven experience in steel structures and a strong background in maintenance and rehabilitation projects. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing existing structures, designing repairs or reinforcements, and supporting ongoing maintenance operations to ensure the safety, functionality, and longevity of our steel infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform structural assessments and inspections of existing steel structures.
* Develop detailed repair, retrofit, and maintenance designs in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
* Prepare technical reports, repair specifications, and construction drawings.
* Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including maintenance, fabrication, and construction personnel.
* Support project management activities such as scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking.
* Provide technical support during the execution of maintenance and repair works.
* Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
* Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes related to steel structures and maintenance best practices.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
* Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience, with a strong focus on steel structures and maintenance projects.
* Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA) and AutoCAD/Revit.
* Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards.
* Experience with field assessments, condition surveys, and forensic investigations.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience working in industrial, heritage assets, or infrastructure sectors.
* Familiarity with corrosion mitigation and protective coatings.
* Knowledge of welding practices and inspection techniques.
* Previous experience with structural health monitoring systems is a plus.
