Southampton, Hampshire
Apply Now

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim Headteacher to lead a dynamic and inclusive two-form entry primary school located in the heart of Portsmouth. This school is home to a vibrant nursery and an alternative provision setting, supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school is proud of its warm, caring ethos where children and staff are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential. It is a positive, vibrant learning environment with a thoughtfully designed curriculum that builds on children's prior knowledge and experiences. Pupils are inspired not only academically, but socially, to become confident and well-rounded individuals.

We are seeking a committed and reflective leader who will:

Champion high expectations for all pupils and staff

Sustain and build on the school's caring and inclusive ethos

Support ongoing innovation and school improvement

Lead with empathy, integrity and a passion for nurturing young minds

Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, families, and the wider community

You will be joining a hardworking, proactive and supportive team of professionals with a wide range of expertise across the curriculum. This is a school that values collaboration, professional growth and continuous improvement.

In return, you will become part of the school trust, a forward-thinking trust with a family of 17 academies, 2 Inclusion Centres, and a School Centred Initial Teacher Training base across Hampshire, Portsmouth and West Sussex. While united by shared values and vision, each academy maintains its own unique identity within its community. The Trust offers access to high-quality professional development and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the local educational landscape.

This is a fixed-term position starting in September 2025.
If you are an experienced leader who is ready to make a real difference and continue to build on the school's successes, we would love to hear from you.
