GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and committed Part-Time SEN Mentor to join a supportive and inclusive educational setting in Bournemouth. About the Role

As a Part-Time SEN Mentor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students with a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals, you will provide tailored mentoring, emotional support, and academic assistance to help students thrive in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Mentor

Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional well-being and academic progress.
Deliver one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions tailored to individual SEND needs.
Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to develop and implement personalised support strategies.
Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction, modelling appropriate conduct.
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
Liaise with external professionals where necessary to ensure holistic support for students.
Requirements of SEN Mentor

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A valid UK driving licence is desirable.
Relevant qualifications or training in education, youth work, or mentoring are advantageous.
