Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

? Salary: £48,000 – £52,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Minerva Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established, Ofsted-registered children’s residential service in Hatfield, AL10. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and passionate individual to step into a Registered Manager role within a high-quality, nurturing care setting.
As the Registered Manager, you will lead a dedicated team in a therapeutic residential home for children and young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Your leadership will ensure that the service meets regulatory standards and delivers the best possible outcomes for every young person.
? Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the home operates in line with all relevant legislation, including the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
Lead and manage a team to deliver high standards of care and achieve positive outcomes for children and young people
Oversee placement plans, risk assessments, and all safeguarding practices
Provide effective leadership, coaching, supervision, and performance management of staff
Manage the home's budget, rota, and compliance with organisational policies and procedures
Work closely with families, local authorities, education providers, and external professionals
Be part of the on-call rota and cover operational needs when required✅ Candidate Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential childcare, including 2 years in a senior/management role
Hold (or be working towards) the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care – Children and Young People’s Residential Management
Sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act, and Children’s Homes Regulations
Proven track record in safeguarding, staff supervision, and budget/rota management
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Full UK driving licence is essential
