Job Title: M&E Design Coordinator
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £60,000 per annum + Car Allowance, Pension, Private Healthcare
The Role:
-Responsible for the coordination and completion of mechanical and electrical design documentation across multiple projects
-Ensure all M&E services designs are compliant with project briefs, building regulations, and budgets
-Work collaboratively with design consultants, architects, clients, and subcontractors to ensure design objectives are met
-Coordinate with internal design teams and manage input from external consultants
-Review M&E designs for spatial fit, compliance, and coordination
-Attend and lead design team meetings, set agendas, and resolve design-related issues
-Engage subcontractors for specialist input and feedback on design solutions
-Prepare design reports, issue and track RFIs, and support preconstruction with budget alignment
-Present coordinated design documentation at internal pre-contract meetings
-Provide minor M&E design input to assist project teams
-Maintain clear and accurate written communication and documentation
-Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies during the design process

The Ideal Candidate:
-Mechanical or electrical bias is acceptable — ideally, you will have experience in both disciplines (minimum 5 years)
-Strong knowledge of the building services design process
-Capable of designing systems including domestic water, heating, cooling, ventilation, and public health
-Proven experience with BIM Level 2 projects and working in 3D environments
-Understanding of low and zero carbon technologies
-Knowledge of procurement methods including traditional and design & build contracts
-Effective at prioritising workloads and managing multiple projects
