Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in school? A welcoming and inclusive SEND‑focused school in North Liverpool is looking for a committed General Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and genuinely motivated to make a difference in the lives of children with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

Providing 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with autism and SEMH

*
Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparation, and classroom routines

*
Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction

*
Using positive behaviour strategies to promote engagement and wellbeing

*
Helping create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

*
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

Compassionate, patient, and child‑centred

Confident supporting children with autism, SEMH, or other additional needs

Able to build positive, trusting relationships

Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing needs

A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
