A leading contractor is recruiting an experienced Design Manager to support the delivery of large-scale city centre residential developments in Manchester.

This role will manage design packages from pre-construction through to site delivery, ensuring designs are buildable, cost-effective, fully coordinated, and compliant with all statutory and warranty requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and monitor the design programme with internal teams and external consultants
Coordinate consultants and trade design packages to meet programme and quality targets
Review and challenge design information throughout development and construction
Attend design team and site meetings to support delivery on site
Ensure compliance with Planning, Building Control, Warranty Provider, and statutory requirements
Liaise with specialist subcontractors and statutory utility providers
Support resolution of technical and buildability issues on siteRequirements

Experience as a Design Manager in both pre-construction and construction phases of projects
Proven experience on large residential projects is preferred
Background working for a Developer or Main Contractor
Proactive self-starter with strong technical and coordination skills
