Mechanical Design Engineer
To £50K + Package and up to 3 days WFH
Looking to join a consultancy that prioritises your professional development, career progression, and mental health and well-being?
I just met with the M&E Director of a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in Zone 1, Central London.
They have a reputation for staff development and retention, are an Investor in People and their average length of service is four years. All great signs that they are genuine about attracting developing and retaining the best engineers in the market.
Their project portfolio includes everything from 5-star hotels, universities, commercial offices, museums, MoD, residential, schools, and industrial facilities. This diversity combined with their CIBSE Training and Development program will provide you with the skills and competencies you need to become a Chartered Engineer, and you'll be fully supported every step of the way.
And from a job satisfaction and job security point of view, you'll never get bored and always have work as their projects span both the private and public sectors.
Based right next door to a major transport hub, which serves both National Rail and LUL their office is modern, spacious, and designed for collaboration. It's an environment you'll enjoy coming to, whether you choose to come in once a week or three days a week, that's up to you to decide.
"I trust my employees to do what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it, to the standard that has been agreed with the client. As long as the work gets done, it really doesn't matter if people want to be in the office one day a week or three days a week."
As a Mechanical (HVAC) Design Engineer, you'll support the Principal or Associate Directors on small to medium-sized projects, anything from £100K to £1M. You'll liaise directly with clients, specialist contractors, and other disciplines and see projects from RIBA Stage 2 to 4. As you progress and get more comfortable, you'll get the opportunity to lead larger projects that range from £10 - £50M.
This is a great opportunity to join a business that is built on trust and autonomy, where you'll have plenty of room to progress. And as you progress from Engineer to manager (i.e. Associate) you'll receive structured management training as let's face it, great engineers are not always great communicators or natural leaders.
This role genuinely offers job security, progression, varied projects, and a supportive culture.
Essential requirements
Minimum of two years' experience as a HVAC design engineer, in the UK.
Able to use Bluebeam, Revit, and ideally H2X (or at least IES or Hevacomp).
Good communicator, comfortable in front of clients.Job#3639
