Underwriter – BTL / HPP

Purpose Underwrite Buy to Let & Home Purchase Plan applications, manage cases from application to offer, ensure credit policy compliance, control risk and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

* Underwrite & offer within mandate & service standards

* Request/verify additional information

* Proactively resolve issues without adding risk

* Liaise with introducers & stakeholders

* Maintain accurate system records

* Manage pipeline & documentation

* Suggest risk-compliant process improvements

* Train colleagues & support teams

* Handle Credit Committee queries

* Monitor existing deals & report

* Assist post-completion when needed

Requirements

* ≥2 years underwriting residential/BTL/HPP (with mandate)

* Advantage: bridging/commercial experience

* Strong analytical, investigative & problem-solving skills

* Excellent communication & negotiation

* Solid FCA/PRA residential finance knowledge

* Degree level education

* Able to work independently & in small, fast-growth team
