M&E Contracts Manager

Newcastle-based (covering sites in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, County Durham, West Yorkshire, and Central Scotland)

Permanent role - Long-term client contract just awarded (3 years)

We’re recruiting an experienced M&E Contracts Manager to oversee a regional portfolio of student accommodation buildings, joining one of the UK’s fastest-growing FM providers. This is a permanent role with long-term security, strong team support, and the chance to help shape a newly awarded contract from day one.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for a well-maintained set of sites — primarily in Newcastle, with additional locations in Central Scotland, West Yorkshire, and County Durham. While day-to-day resident liaison is handled by on-site teams, you’ll lead on M&E compliance, service delivery, and contractor performance. The role offers a strong degree of autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact on operational quality.

This is a permanent position within a fast-growing FM business, with a newly awarded 3-year client contract offering immediate stability and long-term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Overseeing M&E-led planned and reactive maintenance, managing a budget of approximately £1m

*

Managing a trusted supply chain of mechanical, electrical, and fabric contractors

*

Coordinating with the internal admin and helpdesk teams to ensure smooth operations

*

Acting as the key point of contact for client relationships, compliance, and contractor delivery

*

Responding confidently to technical queries across general building services disciplines (electrical, plumbing, heating, etc.)

*

Involvement in contract mobilisation and driving ongoing improvements in service delivery

What We’re Looking For

You’ll likely have a background in M&E-focused FM, building services, or technical contract management, and be confident managing service providers, client expectations, and site compliance.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to:

Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

Be capable of regional travel (with occasional overnight stays — all expenses covered)

Bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to service delivery and issue resolution
