Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering the HS2 project in Birmingham. We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery of key packages of earthworks, drainage, and landscaping works on this nationally significant infrastructure scheme.

The Role

As Sub Agent, you will support the Site Agent in the day-to-day management of site activities, helping to drive works forward safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements. This role will suit a hands-on Sub Agent with experience managing multi-discipline civils packages and coordinating site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Site Agent in the delivery of earthworks, drainage, and landscaping works

Manage bulk earthworks, cut & fill, formation, and associated activities

Oversee drainage works including deep drainage, culverts, and attenuation systems

Coordinate hard and soft landscaping works and manage interfaces with adjacent packages

Supervise Site Engineers, subcontractors, and supervisors on site

Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and RAMS

Assist with short-term planning, progress tracking, and reporting

Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance

About You

Proven experience as a Sub Agent or Assistant Site Agent on major civil or infrastructure projects

Strong background in earthworks and drainage; landscaping experience beneficial

Experience working for a Tier 1 or major civil engineering contractor

Confident coordinating site teams and subcontractors

SMSTS and CSCS (essential)

Proactive, organised, and delivery-focused approach
