Water Hygiene Service Engineer/Technician
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 + Company Vehicle
Reporting to: Contracts / Service Manager
About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Water Hygiene Service Engineer to join a well-established, forward-thinking compliance business. As a Water Hygiene Service Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting clients across commercial, healthcare, and public sector environments — ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and running efficiently. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, with opportunities for further training, development, and progression.
Main Responsibilities
Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Carrying out routine water temperature monitoring and control schemes
* Conducting system disinfections (hot and cold water)
* Taking and recording water samples
* Servicing, cleaning, and performing fail-safe checks on TMVs
* Showerhead descaling and disinfections
* Cold water storage tank inspections
* Calorifier inspections and maintenance
* Basic plumbing and remedial works (depending on experience and training level)
You’ll be expected to use your knowledge and initiative to identify potential compliance risks and offer practical solutions while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism at all times.
What We’re Looking For
* At least 1 year of experience in water hygiene or a related field
* Strong understanding of Legionella control and compliance procedures
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Organised, reliable, and able to manage your own workload effectively
* Confident using mobile devices, CRM systems, and basic IT applications (Word, Excel, Email)
* Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
* Full UK driving licence and clear DBS check
* Flexible approach to working hours due to the nature of the role
