Position: Logistics and Purchasing Assistant
* Location: Welwyn Garden City, Herts
* Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per annum
* Contract: Full-time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday: 8:00am–4:30pm or 8:30am–5:00pm
Logistics & Purchasing Assistant:

Job Role:
As a Logistics and Purchasing Assistant, you’ll play a vital role supporting procurement, stock control, shipping, and administration functions within a small, collaborative environment. This is a varied role split between working in a busy, well organised warehouse and office.
Key Responsibilities:
This role includes assisting with many purchasing, logistics and administrative tasks within the business including but not limited to the following:
Placing Orders for equipment with approved suppliers and obtaining most competitive prices
Receive and correctly store deliveries
Ensuring equipment to be shipped is correctly packaged (inc. palletizing) and all correct documentation in place. Including shipping to locations abroad
Assisting with the care and manual handling of orders received and dispatched from their offices including accurate traceability and current order status
Use of company managed IT systems to maintain accurate, ‘live’ and detailed records of orders, stock and asset management. Including inventory of stock
A degree of Processing of Purchase invoices, delivery notes and other order status updated
Managing returns and hire of equipment and the tracking current status
Providing general assistance within the office including help with telephones, general admin and care for the office
Comply with our clients Policies and Procedures to ensure they comply with relevant Standards for our industry and IT functions
Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers and management
Ensure proper recording, closure and management of issues and tasks

Qualifications:
Must have great attention to detail
Excellent IT Skills (MS Office Suite)
Be flexible & proactive
Good written and spoken communication
Being able to work with one or more teams and alone
Strong work ethic and ambition to progress
Reliable & Honest
5 GCSE’s Grade 5 or above or equivalent
Ability to drive forklift (training available)
Department Goals:
Stores area to be highly organised and tidy with easy to understand where equipment is located
‘Live’ status of all order lines and equipment in stores or being delivered to projects
Building up asset database for equipment installed for clients
Working with IT to develop, improve and implement systems to improve efficiency
