Registered Manager – Bedford
EBD Home | Up to 3 children (currently a solo placement)
Our client currently operates three children’s homes, all rated Good, and is in the process of registering a fourth. They are now seeking a Registered Manager for one of their Bedford homes.
This is a small, 11–17 EBD service registered for up to three children. At present, it is operating as a solo placement, offering stability and focused support. The wider organisation is established, values-led and experienced in achieving and maintaining positive outcomes.
Introduction:
This is a leadership role designed to be sustainable. You will not be stepping into a crisis setting or inheriting instability. Instead, you will join a provider with a track record of Good outcomes, clear structures, and an approach that values steady, thoughtful leadership.
The home is small by design, allowing you to lead with presence and consistency. You will be supported by an engaged Responsible Individual and a wider leadership structure that understands the realities of residential care.
About the Role:

• Provide consistent, calm leadership to staff and young people
• Oversee care planning, safeguarding and quality assurance processes
• Develop and supervise your team, creating a reflective and accountable culture
• Ensure regulatory compliance with the backing of senior leadership
• Contribute to the provider’s continued growth as they register their fourth home
This role carries responsibility, but not isolation. You will have clear oversight, access to senior support and shared accountability.
What Makes This Opportunity Different:
• All existing homes are rated Good
• The organisation is growing steadily, not rapidly
• Leadership understand the demands of registration and inspection
• Small home model allows for meaningful, child-focused leadership
• Stability in placement – currently a solo home
This is not a firefighting role. It is an opportunity to embed good practice, support staff development and lead sustainably.
About You:
Experience & Qualifications:
• Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Level 5 preferred or working towards)
• Experience within children’s residential care
• Previous leadership experience as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager

Why Join:
• Join a provider with a strong inspection track record

• Work within a supportive leadership structure
• Lead a small home where quality matters more than scale
• Build long-term impact rather than manage constant turnover
