We're seeking someone who is confident working with Excel, skilled in data analysis, and experienced with HCLIC data submissions. You’ll support the housing team with key strategy work, data reporting, and policy development.

East Herts Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Housing Strategy Officer to support our housing team on a temporary 3-month contract, with the potential for extension for the right candidate. Rate is negotiable depending on experience.

The ideal candidate is someone who is confident working with Excel, skilled in data analysis, and experienced with HCLIC and other data submissions. They will support the housing team with key strategy work, data reporting, and policy development.

They will contribute to housing policy development, support strategic planning, and help shape the delivery of housing services across the county.

Act as the first point of contact for developers, landowners, builders, registered providers and other interested parties considering housing schemes and applications, providing advice on the affordable housing policy requirements.

Be responsible for managing the delivery of new affordable housing in the district. the affordable housing negotiation on new sites, the post holder will also compile the planning consultation responses, provide pre-application advice and liaise directly with the Planning Services and land agents to ensure new sites contain the appropriate numbers and mix of affordable housing.-

* Duration: Initial 3 months

* Location: Hybrid working – at least 2 days per week office presence as required

* Start Date: ASAP

We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of housing policy, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders. Use of Locata housing systems is desirable
