Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)

Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for a caring and hardworking SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Wakefield. This is your chance to be a key part of the classroom, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will help students overcome challenges, build confidence, and enjoy their learning journey. It’s a rewarding role where your support can make a big difference every day.

What you will do:

Help the teacher with lessons for children with SEMH needs.
Support children with their learning and help them regulate their emotions.
Manage the behaviour in the classroom and help keep children safe and calm
Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns about student welfare to the appropriate staff.
Observe and document children’s progress, then update teachers.
Help staff member with school and classroom activities.
What we want from you:

Experience working with children, especially those with SEMH needs, is desirable.
Must have Team Teach training.
Flexible and able to help children with different needs.
Effective organisational skills with a focus on accuracy.
Must have an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or happy to get one through us.
