General Foreman - Water Treatment Works (AMP 8) - West Midlands

Based -Solihull

Contract - £350.00 - PAYE

Salary - £45,000

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced General Foreman to oversee water treatment works projects as part of the AMP 8 investment program in the West Midlands. The role requires strong leadership skills, expertise in civil engineering and mechanical/electrical works, and experience in delivering projects within the UK water sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Lead and manage site teams, including subcontractors and direct labor.
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
Coordinate with the Site Manager, Engineers, and Project Manager to ensure project progress.
Manage material deliveries and plant resources efficiently.
Maintain accurate site records, reports, and progress documentation.
Ensure compliance with water industry regulations and specifications.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies as required.

Requirements:

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills Register) Water Hygiene Card.
Proven experience as a General Foreman in water treatment works, clean water, or wastewater projects.
Strong understanding of civil engineering, M&E installations, and construction methods.
Knowledge of AMP frameworks and water industry specifications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid CSCS card (Gold/Black preferred).
UK Driving License.

Preferred:

First Aid at Work certification.
Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or water utility companies (Severn Trent, Thames Water, etc.).
Familiarity with NEC contracts and project management processes.
