A growing independent construction consultancy in central Birmingham is looking to appoint a confident and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of education and public sector schemes across the Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join a collaborative team and gain structured project experience on meaningful and technically challenging projects.
The Assistant Project Manager will be joining a consultancy with a strong pipeline of work across schools, universities, local authority and community buildings. With projects typically ranging from £3 million to £40 million, this is an ideal environment for an Assistant Project Manager looking to progress quickly, supported by experienced colleagues and a clear APC pathway.

The Assistant Project Manager's role
The Assistant Project Manager will support the day-to-day management of live projects, assisting with feasibility studies, design development, procurement, contract administration and post-contract delivery. Working under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager, you will attend project meetings, liaise with design teams and contractors, and prepare reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
You will work across all RIBA stages and be encouraged to take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops. The role provides the opportunity to work on a broad variety of schemes within the public sector, with exposure to both refurbishment and new build projects.
The Assistant Project Manager
Degree in Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
One to two years' experience in a UK consultancy project management role
Experience in education, local authority or public sector projects is beneficial
Good working knowledge of JCT contracts is an advantage
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ambitious and working towards chartership (APM, RICS or CIOB)
