Band 8a Pharmacist – Acute Hospital (Ward-Based)

-           Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:45 AM – 17:00 Pm
-           Start Date: ASAP
-           Contract Duration: Until 31st December 2025
-           Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite Only
-           Pay Rate: £26.42/hour – Standard, £42.27/hour – Bank Holidays

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Band 8a Pharmacist to support an Acute Hospital. This is a ward-based position for 11 weeks, offering the opportunity to contribute to patient care across multiple specialities including:

General Medicine
Surgery
Orthopaedics
This is a hands-on clinical role requiring confident decision-making and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Medicines reconciliation
Clinical review of patients
Making appropriate clinical interventions
Processing discharge prescriptions
Working with electronic prescribing systems
Collaborating closely with ward staff and the wider MDT

Essential Requirements:

GPhC-registered Pharmacist
Previous acute hospital experience (essential)
Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work independently
Proficient in electronic prescribing and discharge processes
