Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary, ongoing

Hours : 08:45-16:45 35 hours per week 5 days over Mon-Sat

About the Role

Pertemps Isle of Wight is currently recruiting a Retail Assistant to join a busy local retail team. This is a hands-on position that involves both customer service and manual handling, so it’s best suited to someone physically fit, enthusiastic, and ready to roll up their sleeves.

Key Duties:

 Providing friendly, helpful service to all customers and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
 Operating tills and processing sales accurately in line with company procedures.
 Restocking shelves and maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-presented shop floor.
 Assisting with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, including moving stock between the store, yard, and shop areas.
 Checking deliveries for accuracy, quantity, and condition, and completing related paperwork as required.
 Supporting customers with loading their vehicles when needed.
 Helping with stock movement and order picking for other branches or departments when required.
 Reporting any unusual occurrences, safety issues, or concerns to management promptly.
 Carrying out any reasonable additional tasks to support the smooth running of the store.

Requirements:

Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks safely.
 Confident communicating with customers and colleagues.
 Reliable, adaptable, and willing to help in all areas of the store.
