Support Assistant - Homeless Women & Baby Project
We are seeking adaptable, compassionate, and proactive individuals to join our relief pool supporting a specialist residential project in Cardiff. This service provides high-quality supported living for women and their infant children who may be navigating the challenges of homelessness, trauma, or domestic abuse.
Overview:
* Title: Support Worke Assistant
* Pay: £13.68 - £27.36 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay
* Location - Cardiff
* Time : Waking nights 20.00pm - 05.30am
* You must have a Driving Licence
As a Support Assistant, you will ensure the project remains a safe, stable, and empowering environment 24/7. You will work alongside a dedicated team to provide immediate practical and emotional support to families during their journey toward independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Trauma-Informed Care: Deliver support through a lens of empathy and understanding, recognizing the complex backgrounds of the women in our service.
* Health & Safety: Maintain the integrity of the building through regular safety checks, monitoring CCTV (where applicable), and managing visitor access.
* Parental Support: Assist mothers with practical infant care tasks, modeling positive parenting behaviors and helping to establish healthy routines.
* Independent Living Skills: Provide "at-the-elbow" support with budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and navigating local Cardiff community resources.
* Crisis De-escalation: Manage challenging behaviors or emotional distress with a calm, professional, and non-confrontational approach.
* Reporting: Maintain high standards of record-keeping, ensuring all incidents and progress notes are logged accurately for the permanent staff team
