We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join our small, specialist SEND school, supporting children and young people with SEMH and Autism.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference, confident in managing challenging behaviour, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma or disruption in their early lives.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
*
Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies
*
Promote emotional regulation, engagement, and independence
*
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and senior staff
*
Support pupils both in school and during off-site activities
*
Be a consistent, calm, and reliable adult presence
Essential Requirements
✔ Experience working with SEMH and/or Autism
✔ Confidence dealing with challenging behaviours
✔ Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ Calm, patient, and resilient nature
✔ Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Desirable Experience

Previous work in SEND schools, PRUs, residential care, or youth work
*
Team Teach or other behaviour management training
*
Understanding of trauma-informed practice
*
Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs
