Production Supervisor

W Talent is proud to be supporting a market-leading industrial processing manufacturer based in Peterborough. This business has seen significant growth over recent years including high capital investment in plant equipment and further investment in its infrastructure and people to remain at the forefront of its industry.
As part of its continued development, the company is now seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance operations while fostering a proactive, improvement-focused culture across the engineering team.
The Role:
As a Production Supervisor, you'll lead a dynamic team at a market leading processing plant, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met. You will be responsible for managing and developing a skilled team of operators, optimising production performance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to drive continuous improvement in a critical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Leadership: Ensure the implementation of safe working practices and that all staff adhere to safety policies, conducting daily pre-shift safety toolbox talks.
Team Management: Manage and develop a team of operators, fostering a culture of excellence in manufacturing and performance. Conduct regular performance reviews and motivate the team to achieve business-critical KPIs.
Data & Reporting: Oversee daily data collection and reporting, ensuring that all shift data is accurate, timely, and aligned with business performance goals.
Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in company-wide initiatives aimed at improving plant uptime and production processes. Lead the shift's 5S program to improve plant organisation and housekeeping.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards, prioritizing health, safety, and environmental requirements in line with legislation and company policies.
Plant Performance: Work closely with operators and senior production team members to address plant issues and enhance plant performance. Coordinate with machine suppliers to minimize downtime.
Team Development: Lead by example, introducing and enforcing discipline where needed, and developing a high-performance team through structured performance reviews and development plans.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications: Minimum IOSH Managing Safely qualification, NEBOSH preferred.
Experience:
Strong background in managing teams within a continuous manufacturing environment.
Experience with large industrial equipment and mobile plant.
Familiarity with plant maintenance systems and problem-solving techniques.
Proven success in building high-performance teams and managing subcontractors.
Skills:
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate people at all levels.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to balance competing priorities.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.
