Zest Education is currently seeking a committed and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant Year 4 to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Moseley. This full-time role begins in January 2026 and will involve working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. You will be working closely with a specific pupil in Year 4. You will need to support their academic, emotional, and social development on a one-to-one basis.

Key Responsibilities – Year 4 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Deliver tailored teaching and learning activities designed for an individual pupil.

Assess the child’s needs and apply appropriate support strategies.

*

Encourage independence and self-confidence while maintaining a supportive presence.

*

Promote positive behaviour and engagement in all classroom activities.

*

Support the class teacher with feedback, record-keeping, and tracking pupil progress.

*

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and collaboration.

Requirements – Year 4 1:1 Teaching Assistant

To be considered for this role, you should:

*

Have experience working with children, ideally in a primary or educational setting.

*

Hold a Level 2 qualification or higher in a relevant subject area.

*

Understand the National Curriculum and how to support learning in a Year 4 classroom.

*

Hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS certificate.

*

Demonstrate strong communication skills – both written and verbal.

*

Be confident in managing behaviour positively and encouraging student progress.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
