We are delighted to be recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a modern and inclusive secondary school in Weston-super-Mare for a September 2025 start. This is a full-time, permanent role suitable for ECTs or experienced Food Technology specialists.

About the Technology Department
The Design & Technology faculty is well-resourced and forward-thinking, offering students access to modern kitchens, practical spaces, and cutting-edge equipment. Food Technology is a popular and growing subject, both at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a curriculum focused on nutrition, culinary skills, sustainability, and food science.
About the Role
The appointed Food Technology Teacher will:
• Teach Food and Nutrition across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan and deliver creative, hands-on lessons focused on cooking, health, and sustainability.
• Inspire a love for food and nutrition through engaging practical and theoretical content.
• Support students with coursework, NEAs, and practical assessments.
• Ensure the kitchen classroom is a safe, organised, and inclusive learning space.
• Work closely with colleagues to innovate the Food Technology curriculum.
Experience and Qualifications
• A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject.
• QTS or PGCE in Secondary DT.
• Practical culinary knowledge and confidence in delivering lessons with safety and impact.
• A passion for food education and the ability to inspire learners.
Salary
This role is paid according to the national pay scale – MPS/UPS.
