Hampshire County Council are currently recruiting for a Chef based in the Hampshire area for their care home in Forest Way ,Calmore .

Your duties will include:-

Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals which will be Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, ensuring a safe environment
Ensure sufficient food stocks are ordered and received from approved suppliers and that stock rotation is taking place to maintain optimum freshness
Supervise and instruct catering staff in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures giving help and guidance where appropriate
Responsible for all kitchen equipment ensuring it is in full, safe working order, reporting any damage or faults to the Maintenance Person or Registered / Unit manager and following up any appropriate actionEssential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Basic food hygiene certificate
Clear understanding of Health and Safety issues
Able to complete written records such as record books, accident/incident report sheets etc
Able to work as art of a team and use initiative to deal with problems in a practical way and respond appropriately where additional help is required or in an emergency situation Able to communicate clearly and appropriately with others
