Summary of the Senior M&E Technician role:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior M&E Technician (with Mechanical Bias) to take on a leading role in the maintenance and installation of engineering building services. This position requires a thorough understanding of building services installation and maintenance techniques, ensuring the efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems across the site. The successful candidate will apply their trade skills and expertise to deliver high-quality maintenance, breakdown repairs, installations, and refurbishment works, contributing to the reliability and performance of critical systems. Senior M&E Technician Deliverables / Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
* Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems, and associated plant/equipment installed throughout the site.
* To carry out mechanical/electrical works as required, e.g. new works, refurbishment and capital works replacement programmes.
* To carry out mechanical/electrical repairs and cleaning of mechanical components and equipment as necessary.
* To respond promptly and efficiently to plant breakdowns.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
* City & Guilds Level 3 Engineering Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).
* Authorised or Competent Person for mechanical and electrical plant and systems (advantageous, training will be provided).
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
* Qualified to carry out repairs on HVAC Systems, Piped Medical Gas systems, steam plant, heating and ventilation and other equipment within plant rooms and public areas.
* Comprehensive knowledge of statutory testing and inspection legislation (BS 7671).
* Experience in carrying out refurbishments, new works, and capital works replacement programmes.
* Experience in Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Capable of training and supervising apprentices, trainees, and maintenance assistants.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, particularly in liaising with engineers and key stakeholders.
* Experience of working in a healthcare environment (desirable).
* Flexibility to participate in shift work and a 24-hour on-call system for emergency maintenance.

Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
