Job Title: Operations Manager

Salary: £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am–4:15pm (flexible working available)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Durham

A high‑performing industrial services site is seeking an Operations Manager to lead production performance, quality responsiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives across a fast‑paced, high‑volume, repeat‑process manufacturing environment. This role suits an experienced, results‑driven manager who enjoys autonomy, thrives in operational leadership, and delivers improvements through people, process, and problem‑solving.

Responsibilities

Ensure rapid response to customer needs, managing service issues and leading root‑cause analysis investigations to prevent recurrence.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen activity and quality circles.
Oversee output and volume performance, ensuring targets are met and operational KPIs are achieved.
Plan resources, monitor production effectiveness, and ensure operations run efficiently and safely.
Manage administrative elements such as training, H&S compliance, sickness processes and general team performance.
Develop, propose and agree functional budgets with General Manager, monitoring, managing and controlling all activities in accordance with the agreed functional budget, investigating and resolving any variances.
Provide managerial oversight to the on‑site Engineering teamExperience & Qualifications

A high‑performance background in production or operational management within high‑volume, repeat‑process environments
Strong administrative and organisational skills with proven experience managing H&S, training, and attendance
Solid leadership experience with the ability to run operations autonomously
Lean Six Sigma knowledge and Kaizen/CI experience is beneficial
Ability to lead with authority while building strong relationships with cross‑functional teams
