Consultant Ecologist - Dorset
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 (DOE)
Location: Dorset
Are you an experienced Ecologist ready to take the next step in your career? Our client, a respected multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality environmental and ecological services across the UK, is seeking a Consultant Ecologist to join their friendly and expanding Dorset team.
The Role
You'll play a key part in supporting a diverse range of ecological projects - from small-scale developments to large infrastructure and conservation schemes. Working as part of an experienced ecology team, you'll contribute to:
Designing and implementing ecological surveys (including protected species and habitat assessments).
Preparing clear, concise ecological reports and impact assessments.
Liaising with clients, contractors, and local planning authorities.
Supporting junior staff and contributing to team knowledge-sharing.
About You
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about ecology and conservation. The ideal candidate will have:
A relevant degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
At least 2 years' consultancy experience.
Good botanical and/or protected species identification skills.
Membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM.
A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Protected species licences (e.g. bat, GCN) would be an advantage.
