Learning Support Assistant – Primary
Location: Portsmouth | Key Stages: 1 & 2 | Hours: Full-Time | Sector: Primary Education

GSL Education are looking to appoint a passionate and reliable Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in helping young learners thrive both academically and personally.

Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning across a variety of subjects and activities.

Your role will include:

Supporting Learning: Assisting pupils individually or in small groups to help them understand and complete tasks.
In-Class Help: Working alongside the teacher to maintain a positive learning environment and ensure lessons run smoothly.
Encouraging Independence: Helping pupils to develop confidence and take an active role in their learning.
Team Collaboration: Communicating effectively with staff to share observations and support planning for individual pupil needs.
Tracking Progress: Assisting with informal assessments and feedback to help monitor pupil development.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous experience working with children, ideally in a school setting.
Be patient, compassionate, and genuinely interested in supporting children's education.
Communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.
Show initiative and a positive attitude in a classroom setting.
Hold a relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) – desirable but not essential.
