About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic team in Basingstoke. Starting in September 2025, the successful candidate will inspire and educate students, fostering a love for food technology and healthy living.
About the School:
The school is based in Basingstoke and is mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 900 students in total. The school has a keen interest in promoting the learning of multiple languages in its students, as well as creating a friendly and enthusiastic environment through all aspects of teaching. The school place great value in their staff and offer loads of support to its team.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Food Technology to students of varying abilities.
Develop and implement a curriculum that meets national standards and encourages creativity, practical skills, and an understanding of nutrition.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
Keep up to date with developments in Food Technology and education, integrating new knowledge into teaching practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level is preferred.
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
Commitment to continuous professional development and willingness to engage in training opportunities.
