Financial Controller

Location: Rugeley, Staffordshire

A global, established, and growing consumer products business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to support strategic decision-making and strengthen financial control across the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a hands-on role with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and process improvement, working closely with cross-functional teams. Importantly, this position offers a clear pathway to step up into a Finance Director role, making it an excellent opportunity for ambitious finance professionals seeking career progression.

Key Responsibilities

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities

*

Control and analyse product costings, margins, and customer performance

*

Oversee month-end and year-end close in line with Group timelines

*

Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal financial controls

*

Utilise SAP ECC for reporting, analysis, and process automation

*

Support audits and liaise with external finance partners

*

Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting

About You

*

Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA preferred)

*

7+ years’ experience in financial accounting and analysis

*

Strong SAP ECC experience

*

Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience advantageous

*

Commercial mindset with excellent stakeholder communication skills

*

Ambition to progress into a Finance Director role
