Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
An established and expanding provider of children’s residential services is seeking an experienced and qualified Registered Manager to lead one of its homes in the Staffordshire area.
The service supports children and young people who have experienced early life trauma, neglect, or abuse and may present with emotional and behavioural needs. The organisation offers a strong training framework, competitive salary, and long-term progression opportunities.
Role Overview
The Registered Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and regulatory compliance of the home. The post holder will ensure the service operates in line with relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide effective leadership and operational management of the residential home
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Register with the appropriate regulator and uphold registration standards
• Lead, supervise, and develop a multidisciplinary care team
• Oversee recruitment, vetting, interviewing, and induction of new staff
• Support workforce retention and team development
• Contribute to and implement a comprehensive training and development programme
• Promote high standards of care, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for children and young people
• Liaise with commissioning authorities, external agencies, and multidisciplinary professionals
• Participate in the on-call rota
• Maintain accountability for safeguarding and quality assurance processes
Candidate Requirements
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards
• Significant senior-level experience within a Children’s Residential setting
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks
• Experience preparing for and managing inspections
• Full manual UK driving licence
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
